"Server referral" error at DialKeys launch
DialKeys show a dialogue "Server Referral" under Vista.
Vista requires software to bear a special identification marks in order to access sensible parts of the operating system. Those identifications are only valid for a certain period and as such need to be updated from time to time.
If the "Server Referral" Dialogue appears when trying to launch DialKeys please upgrade to the most recent version of the DialKeys version available in the
download section.
Upgrading the DialKeys version on your system.
The upgrading process involves first to uninstall the currently installed version of DialKeys and then installing the new version:
- Uninstalling the current version.
- In the Start Menu click on the control panel.
- Click on Control Panel.
- In XP select Add or Remove Programs in Vista click on Program and features.
- Select DialKeys and click on uninstall.
- Now follow the instruction of DialKeys uninstallation process.
- Installing the new version of DialKeys.
- Download the latest version of DialKeys for in the download section.
- Double click on the downloaded file and follow the instruction display during the installation process.
- Once the installation if finished, go into the Start Menu and under the directory DialKeys click on DialKeys to start it.
During the upgrade process, the uninstallation requires the original installer or fails.
In case the current version of the installer does not want to uninstall.
Download this small utility ForceUpgrade.exe.
Launch ForceUpgrade.exe, select the new version of DialKeys and follow the onscreen instructions.
